About the Dog Forest
Welcome to enjoy some outdoor time in the forest of Rosbacka farm estate!
The forest is mixed woodland with gentle elevation changes. You and your dog can roam freely and safely — even during official leash-times under the law. The forest is rented for exclusive use for the selected time slot. You can come alone, with friends, or even as part of a larger hobby group. For larger groups, please contact koirametsa@rosbacka.fi.
Rosbacka Dog Forest is a fenced mixed-forest area of over two hectares. The fence is a 2-meter-high chain-link fence with a mesh size of 50 mm. The fence is not buried into the ground, but anchored; in uneven ground sections the fence line is reinforced with earthen fill. In some places the ground may be soft — extra care is advised for small dogs that dig a lot or are prone to escape.
The area is genuine forest: there are rocks, stumps, hollows, and other elements typical to woodland terrain. Because of that, there may be places where a dog or person could get injured. After rain the ground may be slippery or muddy, and in winter it can be icy. Please move carefully. The terrain remains reasonably easy to traverse — on dry days the paths are even accessible by wheelchair.
The area includes an outhouse (toilet), benches and a table, and a campfire spot — firewood can be purchased as an extra service.
